Email POP Setup

Hello 
I installed the software and configured it to the best of my abilities i have only one small problem 
When someone sends an email to the account that was setup for fetching emails the system doesn't create a ticket and there
is no way of testing it in the control panel.
(Email Fetching has been enabled)
Can someone please point me in the right direction please


Products owned by organization

Hi to everyone!

I'm trying to configure a local instance of osTicket 1.9.12 on our company server, and I'm facing with an issue that I don't know how to resolve.

Summing up, we need to track some info about the products an organization buyed from us, i.e. the serial number, the mainteinance status and deadline, etc. in order to prioritize the tickets accomplishment. An organization may owns more than one product: for every one we need the info I just mentioned. Note: even if a ticket usually relates to one product, a panoramic view of all the products buyed by a customer is recommended for the agent in order to decide their actions.

Naively, I created a Custom Form containing all the info I need, and I associate it to the Organization Form. Unfortunately, I've noticed that only one "instance" of the custom form can be added to the Organization form, thus limiting the number of products a company may own.

I don't know if this is the right way to accomplish my job. Alternatively, anyone may suggest me another way? Every hint is welcome!

mysqli requirement

I really want to use osTicket, but our hosting does not have mysqli, and switching to it would almost certainly break our old CiviCRM installation.

Is there any way to use mysql and not mysqli?

Cant install OSTicket on shared hosting

Hi,

I am trying to install OSTicket on shared hosting. I am currently running OSTicket on my localhost where it works fine but when i tried to install it on the hosting server the installation page opens & asks for the details. I fill the form with details providing database connection info. But when i click the install button just after 2-3 seconds chrome shows HTTP 500 error. Please help with it. even when i provide wrong database info it never tells me about it and a chrome error page HTTP 500 error.

Plugins not appearing after dropping into includes/plugins folder

Hi,
I'm trying to get the auth-ldap and storage-s3 plugins to work. I've dropped the phar files into the includes/plugins folder - but when I go to the Admin UI of osTicket, I don't see the plugins appearing in the list and there's no way to activate / configure them. Where am I going wrong?

Secure connection if web server and MySQL on different servers

I'm on ost v1.9.8

I read the following topic.

Web server and MySQL on different servers


@phantomofrussia  has confirmed OST scripts and MySQL database on different server will work.

Is there any performance issue when they are in 2 different servers issue?
Will OST end up with any errors on reading data or writing data since the application and database are not on the same servers?

And i suppose the data transfer between the web server and MySQL server is NOT encrypted?
Anyone have experience if encryption is required in such case?

Hi,
is it possible to remove tab 'Assign Ticket'?

For our management is sufficient to implement only the transfer of the ticket, so the presence of the tab could create management errors.

Hello and tanks for having me.

I been following the forum for a bit. Trying to figure stuff out. I went to:


to learn how to fetch tickets while no one is logged in.

System info:

5.5.45-37.4 PHP version 5.5.28
MySQL version
Linux (64 Bit) Server Apache
Operating system
On Cpanel I set a cron job:


I set up for every 1 minute to see results right away.

I get the emails to the admin address:

So far it looks promising but I don't get any notification emails that a ticket has been created on support@mydomain.com

I also did:

It looked good too:

I don't usually create cron jobs manually. So I'm not sure if this is something I need to open a ticket with the host or is something I'm not doing right.

OS Ticket Migration

My company just launched a new website with OS Ticket. This OS Ticket was attached to the old WordPress website before we make a switch. The new website is HTML 5 based. Currently, OS Ticket does not load with OS Ticket content and navigation. I want to successfully migrate OS ticket database to a new website, but I get these errors:

  1. php error – /support/main.inc.php on line 78
  2. php error – /support/include/class.nav.php on line 321

If It does not load, it means the path not found. I don’t know where to look for. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

email templates and variables

Is there a way to only display a custom variable and its title if the variable exists. Currently if you setup an email template that uses a custom variable from a form it will display whatever title you give it and then just the blank space where the variable should be... Basically you need to be able to wrap the title and variable tag inside some if statement... If there is such an ability already in place can you point me to the docs for it so I can see the syntax.

IE:

Topic: %{ticket.topic.name}
{if ticket.custom_field}
MY CUSTOM FIELD: %{ticket.custom_field}
{end if}
Subject: %{ticket.subject}
Submitted: %{ticket.create_date}

Installer fails error: ...Failed opening required 'C:/wamp64/www/ost/include/class.base32.php'

The installer hangs and fails after completion of the system settings, admin settings and db settings dialogue. The PHP error is:
Fatal error:  require_once(): Failed opening required 'C:/wamp64/www/ost/include/class.base32.php'

I cannot find the file referenced in the application directory at the referenced path or any other path. This is an initial install of OSTicket 1.9.14 on WAMP on Windows Server 208R2. 
Apache 2.4.18 - PHP 5.6.19 - MySql 5.7.11

Respond to multiple email addresses

Hello.

Is it possible to configure osTicket to receive tickets to more than one email address? I have international clients and I would like to provide the emails support@mycompany.com and soporte@mycompany.com for English and Spanish. 

If it's not possible with v1.9, will it be possible with v1.10?

In any case, would you recommend to upgrade to v1.10-RC.2 on a production site or should we rather wait until the upgrade is released?

Help with email fetching after Power Outage

Hey all,

A former coworker of mine set up OSTicket for our company about a year ago, and it has been working great!!

....Up until about a week and a half ago.  We had a power outage and subsequent generator failure that caused all of our systems to lose power and go down hard.  We have everything back up and running, with the exception of OSTicket not fetching emails!  It used to check once per minute, but is no longer doing so.  However, auto cron is working, as it fetches emails and opens tickets as soon as I log into the web appliance.

I have spent the last two days reading all sorts of things on this forum, and reading the wiki, but it just isn't making sense to me.  It is setup on a Cent OS server, and I have extremely limited Linux experience.  I have never used cron before.  In reading other threads with similar problems, it seems like most people just point them to the IMAP/POP3 setup wiki...which I have read like 10 times now, but just isn't making sense.  I apologize for my lack of knowledge here, but I'm just going to need some additional help.

I am attaching my system info below, but please let me know what else I can provide to help troubleshoot this!!

Only allow users from company domain to register or create a ticket

osTicket version: v1.9.14

I'm' trying to create a filter to only allow company emails to register.  See attached file for setup details.
Registration emails are getting through eventhough I'm not using the 'company.com' email address.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong or missing.  

Any ideas?  Thanks.

All-

This is strange, I am running osTicket 1.9.14 on Server 2012 R2, IIS 8.5, PHP 5.6.x. When trying to test email genration I get the error
Warning: Failed to connect to email server at localhost Port 26 . Emails DO get sent but php.ini has the smtp localhost commented out.
ANd mail.php does not have an ini_set() .

Where would this be getting picked up?

I've many much data stored on the free trial Cloud osTicket..if I want to move to Self-Hosted osTicket, how do I transfer my data from the former to the later?

Hello,Would like help from someone how do the configuration of osTicket , work in a hospital and decided to use this program, the more I am having problems with the configurations .Not I change my url , which is in localhost for the url of the company, if there is a topic link or video that can help me make those settings ..

buen dia, instale osticket 1.9.5 en un servidor de pago (telmex) pero no funciona la traduccion, instale el archivo .phar en la carpeta adecuada y todo sale en ingle, solo se ha traducido la ayuda que sale en los globos, en un servidor local con wamp funciona correctamente pero en este servidor de pago no, hable con el servicio de soporte y me dicen que es problema de configuracion de la aplicacion no del servidor, llevo mas de un mes instalando y reinstalando y no puedo hacer que se traduzca, y en la pagina principal del cliente algunas cosas estan traducidas y otras no, un saludo.

good day , install osTicket 1.9.5 on a payment server ( Telmex ) but the translation does not work , install the .phar file in the appropriate folder and everything goes in groin , only translated the help that goes on balloons in a local server with wamp working properly but in this payment server not talk to the support service and tell me it's problem configuration of the application no server , took more than a month installing and reinstalling and I can not make it translate, and on the main page of the client are translated some things and not others, a greeting.
